The e-ASIA Joint Research Program (“e-ASIA JRP”) aims to develop a vibrant and collaborative research community in Science and Technology, to promote innovation in the East Asian region, and to contribute to the region’s economic development. ≪ Aim of Joint Call and Research Area ≫; Through multilateral collaboration for medical research and development in the field of “Health Research”, the aim of the joint call is not only to contribute to the development of regional science but also to overcome public health and medical problems in East Asia in the near future. The field of “Health Research” in the e-ASIA JRP, therefore, invites research proposals focuses on the following research area: i) Infectious Diseases JRP supports research projects focused on, but not limited to, emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases, which are serious impediments to the development of ASEAN countries and require urgent attention. ii) Cancer Research JRP supports research focused on the burden of cancer in ASEAN countries. ≪Supports≫; The duration of a cooperative research project will be three years (36 months), in total, from the start date. for Elderly People 1.Aim of the Call The aim of this call (Phase 1) is for the joint project consisting of one Japanese academia–industry team and one Swedish academia–industry team to develop new solutions and/or to combine solutions in each respective country in order to propose and verify the innovativeness and potential effectiveness of new equipment, services and community designs. This is accomplished by combining existing knowledge, competences and technologies on going cooperation in the respective country in order to prepare for testing of innovative solutions addressing needs of Aging Societies. 2.Format, content and implementation JST and Vinnova will support cooperative activities between the Japanese academia-industry team and the Swedish academia-industry team in a two-phase mode with national funding. This call is for the first phase (Phase 1) of two in the cooperation. After consultation between JST and MOST, “ICT for Care and Support of Elderly People in Hyper Aged Society” has been selected as the field of research to which the joint funding scheme will be applied. 2. Aim of Program and Research Field The aim of the program is to strengthen collaboration between Japan and Taiwan within the field of “ICT for Care and Support of Elderly People in Hyper Aged Society” to achieve world-class scientific results, leading towards new innovative science and technology. The potential research area / topics include but are not limited to: 1) Utilizing VR and Robot for body augmentation and telework of elderly people 2) ICT for the support of independent life of elderly people to achieve their aging in place (monitoring etc) 3) Monitoring technology for care of elderly people II. for Elderly People 1.Aim of the Call The aim of this call (Phase 1) is for the joint project consisting of one Japanese academia–industry team and one Swedish academia–industry team to develop new solutions and/or to combine solutions in each respective country in order to propose and verify the innovativeness and potential effectiveness of new equipment, services and community designs. for Elderly People 1.Aim of the Call The aim of this call (Phase 1) is for the joint project consisting of one Japanese academia–industry team and one Swedish academia–industry team to develop new solutions and/or to combine solutions in each respective country in order to propose and verify the innovativeness and potential effectiveness of new equipment, services and community designs. This is accomplished by combining existing knowledge, competences and technologies on going cooperation in the respective country in order to prepare for testing of innovative solutions addressing needs of Aging Societies. 2.Format, content and implementation JST and Vinnova will support cooperative activities between the Japanese academia-industry team and the Swedish academia-industry team in a two-phase mode with national funding. This call is for the first phase (Phase 1) of two in the cooperation. Aim of Program and Research Field The aim of the program is to strengthen collaboration between Japan and Taiwan within the field of “ICT for Care and Support of Elderly People in Hyper Aged Society” to achieve world-class scientific results, leading towards new innovative science and technology.
